What Does an Empty House Mean?
A house is 'empty' when no planet is positioned within it. With 9 planets and 12 houses, several houses will always be vacant. Most people have 4-7 empty houses. This is normal and by design.
Are Empty Houses Bad?
No. An empty house can indicate a smoother, less eventful experience. An empty 7th house doesn't mean 'no marriage.'
An empty house is not a missing house. Its story is told by its lord, sign, karaka, and aspects.
The Four-Point Method
1. Locate the House Lord
Find where the lord sits. That house is the stage.
2. Check the Aspects (Drishti)
Mars (4th, 8th), Jupiter (5th, 9th), Saturn (3rd, 10th), Rahu/Ketu (5th, 9th).
3. Consider the Karaka (Significator)
1st: Sun, 2nd: Jupiter, 3rd: Mars, 4th: Moon/Mercury, 5th: Jupiter, 6th: Mars/Saturn, 7th: Venus, 8th: Saturn, 9th: Jupiter/Sun, 10th: Mercury/Jupiter/Saturn/Sun, 11th: Jupiter, 12th: Saturn.
4. Read the Sign on the Cusp
The zodiac sign colours the house's expression.
What Each Empty House Means
Empty 1st: Common, read Lagna lord. Empty 7th: Very common, does NOT mean 'no marriage.' Empty 10th: Very common, not career failure.
