Geeta kehti hai karam kar phal ki chinta na kar, Rahu lagan wala karam se pehle hi phal ki chinta karta hai, isiliye bechara marta hai.
The Gita says do your duty and don't worry about the result; the one with Rahu in the Ascendant worries about the result before even doing the duty, that is why the poor guy suffers.
The Bhagavad Gita teaches the ultimate spiritual law: Focus on the action (Karma), not the result (Phal).
But Rahu in the 1st house (Lagan) completely hijacks the mind. Rahu is the planet of illusion, greed, and future anxiety. Dr. Sharma explains that a person with this placement is psychologically incapable of living in the present. Before they even start a project, a job, or a relationship, their mind is already obsessing over the final result ("karam se pehle phal ki chinta").
This constant overthinking paralyzes them. They suffer ("bechara marta hai") not because they lack talent, but because their anxiety about the future destroys their present actions.
